Microsoft Intros New Apps & Solutions for Mediaroom
Microsoft announced developments for its Microsoft Mediaroom IPTV platform which
demonstrate the company’s continued support of its vision to bring a new world
of connected entertainment to consumers worldwide:
· Microsoft Mediaroom Advertising Platform: The platform will let broadband
service providers deploying Microsoft Mediaroom offer targeted, measurable, and
interactive advertising spots all from one comprehensive platform. Advertisers
will be given the capability to finitely target advertisements to specific
groups and measure return on investments (ROI).
· Mediaroom Migration Program: As the IPTV market matures we’re seeing an
appetite from operators on first generation platforms or with home-grown
solutions to migrate to Mediaroom. The Mediaroom Migration program has been
developed to ease the transition for IPTV service providers using other
platforms to migrate to the Mediaroom platform. The Program delivers a
structured assessment process and analytical tools for migration, including
business and technical workshops to review set-top-box portability, network
compatibility and audio-visual head-end interoperability.
· New Demo of Interactive BBC Mediaroom Presentation Framework application:
Microsoft Mediaroom is powering the next generation of interactive TV and the
applications showcased at the IBC2008 Show in Amsterdam starting Friday include
the first public viewing of a BBC demo showing how the BBC’s journalistic
content, including News, Sports and Weather could look using the Mediaroom
platform. The BBC application builds on the successes of Red Button and BBC
iPlayer to provide access to the breadth and depth of the BBC’s content via an
intuitive and easy-to-use TV interface.
